Jamba Juice Whirls into Ala Moana’s Makai Market

Jonathan Evangelista named General Manager and William Fernandez as Assistant GM

HONOLULU, HAWAII – November 21, 2007 – Jamba Juice Hawaii (JJC Hawaii, LLC) will open its 37^th store statewide at the Ala Moana Shopping Center Makai Market on Friday, November 23^rd.  The 625 square foot store will open at 6:00 am and the first customer will be greeted with a Jamba Power Basket filled with Jamba goodies.  This is the second Jamba location at Ala Moana Shopping Center, the other is located in Sears across from Long’s on the mall level.

Jonathan “Hollywood” Evangelista was appointed as general manager of the Jamba store at Sears Ala Moana when it opened back in April of 2007 and will manage both Ala Moana shopping center locations.  As general manager, Evangelista is responsible for day-to-day operations including staff supervision, scheduling, training and customer service. 

Evangelista hails from California where he began his Jamba journey back in 2000 as a Team Member at the West Pico, CA store.  He then transferred to the Hollywood Jamba location in 2002 where he received his nickname.  “Hollywood” attended Cal Poly Pomona University where he studied mechanical engineering before focusing his efforts on the mechanics of the smoothie business. 

William Fernandez will assist Jonathan as assistant general manager.  Fernandez began his Jamba career in November 2005 as a team member at the Jamba Kapahulu location.  Within two years he worked his way up to assistant general manager before transferring to Jamba Sears Ala Moana and now Jamba Makai Market.  Fernandez graduated from King Kekaulike High School on Maui in 2002 and recently received his Bachelor of Arts in both Biology and Hawaiian Language from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
